1 lb round steak, cut into strips
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1 T Worcestershire sauce
2 t oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 6 oz can mushrooms(I use fresh, so 1 cup sliced mushrooms)
1/8 tsp pepper
1 can tomato soup(can use canned diced or even fresh tomatoes. I use a 1/2 can of good dark beer in addition to the tomato product of your choice)

6-8 drops Tabasco sauce
Rice or noodles

Dredge beef in flour, brown in oil. Add onions, garlic and mushrooms. If using fresh mushrooms, cook for 5-6 minutes or until their are soft. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. simmer until tender, about 40 minutes or a bit longer if not fork tender. Serve over rice or noodles.

This recipe comes courtesy of Joan Sterchi, mother of Terri, my longest and still one of my best friends. Joan was a great cook and I learned many tips hanging around their house. I use a little different ingredients these days, but always think of Joan when making Beef Strogonaff.
