1 c (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
1 1/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
2 1/2 c Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 12 oz package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat over to 375ºF. Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoonsfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; removed to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.
