1 c. Flour plus 2 Tbspn.
1/2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 c. White sugar
1/4 c. Brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 c. Shortening

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together (Triple batch 1/2 c. plus flour)

Add
1/2 c. White sugar
1/4 c. Brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 c. Shortening
Blend all ingredients until mixed well.

Add
1/2 c. Chopped nuts (walnuts)
1 c. Chocolate chips

Drop by tsp. on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake @ 375º for 10-12 minutes (until golden brown)

My mom's chocolate chip cookies are great when they are warm, they are great when they are cold, they are great anytime. We used to hoard them. I would hide at night under the counter in the dining room and eat them out of the pail until they were gone. Thanks Mom :) Love, Jay
