1/2 lb Sausage, casing removed
1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine
1 Cup Sliced Mushrooms
1 med Green Bell Pepper, sliced thin
1 med Onion, chopped fine
1/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 1/4 Cup Milk
2 Cups (8 oz) Shredded White Cheddar Cheese
1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
8 oz Ziti, Cooked & Drained

Preheat oven to 350º

1. In skillet, brown sausage. Remove & drain, set aside
2. In same skillet, melt butter.
3. Add in Mushrooms, Bell Pepper & onion, cook until tender, not brown.
3. Blend in Flour
4. Gradually stir in Milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until boils. Let boil & stir for 1 minute
5. Blend in 1 1/2 Cups Cheddar, Parmesan & ground pepper. Cook until cheeses are melted & mixture is smooth
6. Stir in cooked Ziti & Sausage. Pour all into greased 2 qt casserole dish.
7. Sprinkle top with remaining Cheddar Cheese
8. Bake COVERED for 30 minutes or until hot & bubbly.

This is the dish that we make for Krystal for her birthday. Jim found this one on the back of a pasta box. We've tweaked it here and there and made it our own. It's a family favorite. Time consuming, but totally worth it.
