1 large beef bone with some beef still on
1 large pot of water
1 c pearl barley
All the vegetables you can manage (Turnips, parsnips, onion, carrots, celery, potato, tomato, peas, corn, etc)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Simmer beef bone in water while preparing the vegetables.
2. Add vegetables and simmer on low for 2 hours.

Grandma Secret: Our children, and some grandchildren, didn't like turnips and parsnips so I put them through the blender along with green and yellow beans. Once puréed they never knew the difference!
