Filling:
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

Dough:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup soft butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup milk
2 1/2 to 3 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder

Directions:

1. Cook until thick, about 2-3 minutes

Dough:
1. Mix all together and roll 1/4 inch and cut.
2. Add 1 tsp filling. Dot with butter. Put another cookie on top and press edges.
3. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
