1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
4 bacon strips, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/3 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon, onion, and bell pepper together in a saucepan over medium heat until tender. Add tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, and salt and bring to boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until done.

If you want it really dry like they do it in Charleston, pour it in a baking dish when it's done on the stove and put it in a 350º oven for about 10 minutes until really dry! Yum!
