4 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 pound each: lemon peel, pineapple, red cherries, cut fine
1 pound blanched almonds
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
10 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once and then measure; add baking powder, soda and salt and sift together 3 times. Sift 1 cup of the flour mixture over fruits and nuts. Mix thoroughly. Cream together butter and sugar. Add remaining flour mixture to creamed mixture a small amount at a time. Beat after each addition until smooth. Add lemon juice, fruits and nuts. Fold in egg whites. Pour in tube pan or small bread pans prepared with paper lining in the bottom. Bake at 250º for 2 1/2 hours; then increase to 300º for 15 minutes.
