1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 lb. pecans, finely ground
2-1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. whiskey

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add sugar gradually and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in egg yolks until well blended. In a small bowl combine ground pecans and 1 c. of the flour and blend well. Add to butter mixture, blending well. Sift together the remaining flour, salt, ginger, and cinnamon. Add flour mixture alternately with the whiskey, stirring well to blend. Chill about 1 hr.

Roll out about 2 heaping tablespoons of dough at a time on a well-floured pastry cloth to about 1/4 in. thickness. Cut dough in 2 in. diamond shapes with a knife. Lift up cookies with a thin spatula and place on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle tops lightly with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 5-8 min or until brown around the edges. Remove from sheets carefully and let cool on racks.
