1-1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 tsp. salt
1 egg white, well beaten
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 c. nut meats
2 c. cherries, drained (pitted, sour)
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

CHERRY SAUCE:
1 c. cherry juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. corn starch
1/2 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together all dry ingredients; add beaten egg and melted butter, then cherries and nuts. Bake in torte pan at 350 degrees for 45 min. Top with cherry sauce or whipped cream.

CHERRY SAUCE:
Mix all ingredients together and cook until thick. Keep warm and pour over cherry torte.
