3 lbs. beef round steak
1/3 c. flour
3 T. shortening
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 c. water
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle one side of meat with half of the flour and pound into the meat. Turn meat over and pound in the rest of the flour. Cut into 6 to 8 pieces. Melt shortening in large skillet. Brown meat over medium heat. Sprinkle onion soup mix over the top. Mix the water and soup together and pour over meat. Cover tightly and simmer 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. or until tender. Place meat on a warm plate. Heat remaining gravy to boiling, stirring constantly. Pour over meat and serve. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
