1 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 can tomato soup
1 can water
3 tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese room temp
4 c. confectionary sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. butter soften
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients and shortening.
Add tomato soup and water.
Prepare 2 9inch cake pans(greased/floured) and pour in batter.
Bake at 350º for about 35-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
After cake is done let cool for 5 min. and then invert to remove from pan.
When cakes are completely cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting

Frosting:
Beat cheese until smooth. Add sugar and beat until blended.
Add butter and vanilla and beat till well blended..

My cousin Eddie was a great baker. He would love to try new things and he knew I would test them out for him. This cake was to become my all time favorite and I requested this for all my birthday cakes. Every so often I think about making this,
