1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup soft shortening or salad oil
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup molasses
1/2 tsp. nutmeg 3/4 cup raisins
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening & egg together. Sift dry ingredients together. Add a little of the flour mixture alternately with the milk and molasses. Combine raisins with the last of the flour and add (by hand).

Spread dough on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or 375 degrees for 20 minute's.
