3-4 small ripe bananas
3 c. flour
1 1/8 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 c. soft shortening
3 eggs
2 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/8 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 c. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mash bananas. Sift together next four ingredients (though salt). In a large bowl cream shortening, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add buttermilk or sour milk. Add sifted flour mixture and pecans. Beat about 2 minutes. Pour into 9 x 12 greased and floured pan. Bake on 350 F for 30-35 minutes.
