3 lbs. Pork Shoulder (cut in chunks)
6 cups water
4 red chile pods or 3 Tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. Oregano
1 small onion
1 clove garlic, minced
6 cups canned hominy

Directions:
Directions:
Boil meat in 6 cups of water until tender-about 3 hours.
Add hominy and seasoning (oregano, onion, minced garlic and chili pods0 to boiled meat broth. Salt to taste. Simmer hominy and meat together for an additional 1/2 hour.

This is best if made the day before and heated back up. The flavors get to blend better. This is a staple in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is served at Christmas and other celebrations in Albuquerque.
