1 medium onion
1 medium green pepper
1/4 cup fresh basil
1 tbsp fresh thyme
1 tbsp fresh oregano
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp minced garlic in oil (in a jar)
1 lb. ground beef
1 hot deli sausage ( cut into 1 inch pieces)
1 sweet deli sausage ( cut into 1 inch pieces)
1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
1 (28 oz can) of crushed tomato
1 (28 oz can) puréed tomato

Directions:
Directions:
In a blender or food processor add onion, green pepper, basil, thyme, oregano, and oil. Blend well.
In a sauce pan on the stove melt 1 tbsp butter and garlic in pan. Add ground beef, hot sausage, and sweet sausage. Cook until browned.
Add onion mixture, mushrooms and sauce to ground beef mixture. Salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer on low for at least 4 hours.

*This is a recipe passed down from my grandmother to my mom and than passed to me. We never measured anything and it always came out the same.(wonderful!)

*This can be cooked in a crock pot rather then the stove top. On high for 4 to 6 hours.
