Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup and water in heavy pan. Bring to boil, stir constantly until sugar dissolved. Reduce heat to medium, cooking and stirring until hard ball stage (252 degrees). Beat egg whites till fluffy, then add gelatin, beating until smooth and forms high peaks. Pour hot syrup in thin stream into beaten whites, beating constantly. Beat until candy loses gloss and holds shape. May fold in ½ c. flaked coconut and 1 c. pecans or sprinkle tinted coconut on top. May keep candy warm by placing bowl in pan with hot water. Drop candy by teaspoons with swirled top onto waxed paper. If candy gets stiff, add a FEW drops of hot water and rebeat to drop.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Mom and Teresa had their first success at divinity with this recipe from the Farm Journal magazine when Teresa was growing up. Teresa has made this with Beth and Kyle as it is helpful to have 2 hands to work quickly. Lou has also made this to bring to Vannatta Christmases. Marjorie Faye, Teresa and Lou Vannatta
