"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
4 lb chicken
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
3 tbsp spice mix (your favorite)
1/2 can beer

Directions:
Directions:
Clean chicken inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels. Rub chicken with oil and then inside and out with spices. Place beer on a solid surface. Grabbing a chicken leg in each hand, plunk the bird cavity over the beer can. Transfer to the grill and place in the center of the grate, balancing the bird like a tripod. Cook the chicken over med-high indirect heat for approx. 1 1/4 hours or until the temp reaches 165 degrees in the breast and 180 degrees in the thigh. Let stand for 10 minutes before carving.

I hear it's good with a can of Coke, too, but why would you want to do that?
