1 cup pitted dates, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Put dates, sugar and 1/2 cup water in small pot, cook for 15 minutes, cool.

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, soda and salt, beat well. add oatmeal mix thoroughly. Add 2 to 4 tbs water, enough to form dough into a ball that can be rolled. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Roll dough 1/8 inch thick. cut into 2 inch rounds. Put together with dates in the center, bake for 15 minutes at 350 º
