1 lb ground beef
2 tbs chopped onion
2 tbs chopped green pepper
1/4 c corn meal
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
1/2 c milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c flour
2 tbs fat
2 c tomato juice
3 potatoes, cut and quartered*
6 carrots, halved*
3 onions, quartered*

Directions:
Directions:
Combine meat, onion, pepper, corn meal, seasonings, milk and egg. Mix thoroughly and form into 12 balls. Sprinkle with flour. Brown in hot fat. Place in casserole. To fat in skillet, add remaining flour. Blend and add tomato juice. cook until thick and pour over meatballs. Arrange vegetables around meatballs. Add salt. Cover and bake at 350º for one hour.
*Parboil vegetables for 15 minutes before placing in casserole.
