"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

1/2 C. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp. ground Cardamom
6 Tbsp. Water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter and sugar. Stir in the eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and ground cardamom. Stir in flour, mixing well. Add water until batter is the consistency of a thick cream sauce.
Lightly grease the two sides of the krumkake iron with cooking spray or melted butter. Heat krumkake iron according to manufacturer's directions or just until a drop of water sizzles on the surface.
Spoon a heaping Tbsp. of batter onto the center of the iron. Close iron, which causes batter to spread. When light goes off on your krumkake iron, or steaming stops; open the iron and immediately roll cookie around a krumkake cone or the handle of a wood spoon. Slip off cone and allow to cool on rack.
Krumkake are equally delicious when served alone or when filled with whipped cream and/or fruit. You can also use them as an ice cream cone!
Store in tightly sealed container in order to retain crispness.

Personal Notes:
I have an electric Krumkake iron and it makes 2 cookies at a time, so it is a quick process.
