1/2 c. onion, chopped
2 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
2 c. cherry flavored cola beverage
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 c. water
1 Tbsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. oregano
2 cans red kidney bean
1-2 tsp. Emeril's or Tony Chacheres seasoning
2-3 drops Tabasco sauce

Brown onions and ground beef in skillet. In large saucepan, mix remaining ingredients. Add browned meat mixture. Cook about 45 minutes over slow heat.

I prefer to mix all in a crockpot and let cook for about 8 hours. The slow cooking really enhances all of the flavors. I sometimes use 1/2 beef and 1/2 venison.
