1 tbsp yeast
1/2 c milk
1/4 c sugar
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve 1 tsp sugar in warm water, sprinkle yeast into water and let stand for 10 minutes. Heat together milk,1/4 c sugar, salt and butter until melted. Cool to lukewarm. In a large bowl combine yeast, milk mixture, 2 beaten eggs and 1 cup of flour. Beat with electric mixer. Gradually stir in remaining flour to make a soft slightly sticky dough. Turn dough onto floured board, knead until smooth and springy. Place dough in greased bowl, turning to grease all over. Cover and let rise until double in bulk - about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Punch dough down, knead in fruit and raisins. Cut dough into three pieces. Roll each piece into a 30 inch rope, braid together and transfer into greased baking sheet. Form into wreath shape pinching ends together. Place custard cup, which has been greased on the outside, in center of wreath. Cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour.
Glaze:
Before baking, brush entire wreath with about one half of lightly beaten egg. Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes, brush again with egg and bake another 20 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on bottom. Cool on rack.
