1 cup butter (part shortening)
1/2 cups almonds
1 1/2 cup glazed cherries (green & red mixed)
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon flavoring
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 1/4 cups of sugar
4 eggs (well beaten)
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar together. Add flavoring (except lemon juice) Add beaten eggs to creamed mixture. Sift 2 cups flour, salt and baking powder and use other 1/2 cup flour to mix with fruit. Add dry ingredients and fruit alternately with milk and lemon juice. Use greased & floured 8x8x3 1/2 Christmas cake tin and bake 300º for 1 1/2 hours.
