3 Sticks softened butter or margarine
1 c sugar
2 eggs yolks
3 3/4 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp water
Filling: Raspberry, Plum, apricot and strawberry preserves.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter or margarine and sugar. Beat in egg yolks. Sift flour and salt, then blend into butter mixture. Add vanilla. Chill dough 1 hour. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make indentation in center of ball with thumb, fill with preserves.
Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly, remove to rack to finish cooling. Store in tight containers.
