6 oz. unsalted butter melted
2 eggs
1 c. extra fine granulated sugar
1 3/4 c. self rising flour
2c chopped pitted dates
2 c water
1/2 tsp. soda
Sauce:
1 stick unsalted butter
2c brown sugar
2 c whipping cream
1tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add water to dates in sauce pan and bring to a boil, add soda, let set a few minutes.
Mix butter, eggs and sugar and blend well, add flour and mix in dates.
Bake 375º for 30 minutes
Sauce:
Melt butter, sugar and cream, stir constantly until melted, add vanilla.
Pour over cake to serve warm
