3/4 cup butter, melted (or Crisco)
2 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar (1 lb box)
3 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x13” baking pan. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine butter and brown sugar; cool slightly. Beat in eggs (beat one egg at a time for 3 minutes each – makes the texture of the final product is much better and bakes lighter).
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 28 minutes only, even if they don’t look done. Cool completely then cut into 48 squares. When they are at room temperature they are very gooey inside.

If baking in Pampered Chef Brownie Pan spray with non-stick spray, use medium scoop and put 2 level scoops in each well of the pan and cook for 16 minutes. Makes 24 squares.
