3 c white sugar
1/2 c water
1/2 c vinegar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cook first 5 ingredients until it begins to get brown.
Dissolve soda in vanilla and pour into candy mixture.
Let cool enough to handle.
Using buttered hands pull candy mixture until it begins to stiffen.
Form into log and cut into small bite sized pieces.
Cool completely and store in airtight container.
