5 1/2-6 c flour
2 pkg dry yeast
1 T sugar
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 c milk
1/2 c water
cornmeal
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Combine 3 c flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
Heat liquid ingredients until very warm.
Add to dry mixture and beat well.
Stir in enough extra flour to make stiff batter.
Spoon into 2 loaf pans, greased and sprinkled with corn meal.
Sprinkle tops with cornmeal.
Cover, let rise in warm place for 45 min.
Bake for 25 min.
Remove from pans and cool.
Slice and toast.
