2/3 cup shortening, 2/3 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup gum drops(omit the black ones)

Mix in order given. Bake on greased cookie sheets in 375 Degree oven. No time was given in the original recipe but about ten minutes should be right.
