6 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup warm water (lukewarm)
2 cups milk, lukewarm
1 stick butter, melted
1 beaten egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix yeast, sugar and warm water to soften yeast. Let set. Add flour and salt to bowl. Add warm milk, melted butter and yeast mixture. This will look like a big sticky glob. Start kneading together with your hands. Move to a floured board and continue to knead until shiny. Place in greased bowl and allow to rise for 1/2 hour. Turn out onto floured board and cut loaf into 3 pieces. Roll each piece out into 14 inch roll. Mush ends together and braid dough. Tuck ends under and lay on greased cookie sheet. Allow to rise a little (1/2 hour or so.) Brush top of loaf with beaten egg. Bake at 350º for 30-45 minutes.
