This is my Mom's recipe and one of our favourite dinners on Linden Ave.
Ikea's Swedish Meatballs don't even compare!

2 Tbsp Butter
1/3 cup chopped Onion

1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup fresh Bread Crumbs ( break up fresh bread )
2 tsp Sugar
1 1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Allspice
1/4 tsp Nutmeg

1 lb. Ground Beef
1/2 lb. Ground Pork

2 tbsp Butter
3 Tbsp Flout
1 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt and Pepper
3/4 cup Cereal ( Coffee ) Cream
1/3 cup Water

Directions:
Directions:
Saute Onion in 2 Tbsp Butter

In bowl: beat egg, add milk and bread bits. Let stand 5 min.

Add Salt, Sugar, Allspice,Nutmeg, Ground Beef and Pork and Onion.
Blend together.

Shape into 3/4 " meatballs and roll in flour.

In a skillet, melt 2 Tbsp Butter and fry meatballs. When done, remove and place in a casserole dish. In fat and drippings in skillet, add 3 TBsp flour, till incorporated and browned. Add 1 tsp Sugar, Salt and Pepper, Water and slowly add Cream, stirring constantly till simmering and thickened.

Pour cream over meatballs and warm at 325 degrees for 20 minutes, covered.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
These really are good and best served with Mashed Potatoes, as Ikea does.
Even though the amounts of spices are minimal, they really make the flavour of the dish. If you don't have Allspice or Nutmeg, rather than buy containers of them at the store, buy a small amount at Bulk store.
You might be better off getting the ground Beef and Pork at the butcher.
