1 lb. stew beef pieces
salt
pepper
olive oil
carrots
potatoes
1 large can tomatoes

Directions:

Using a large skillet add 1 TBS olive oil. With pan and oil very hot - brown beef.
Take browned meat out and "deglaze" pan with a little bit of water or red wine. The wine helps to give it more flavor. Add enough water to this to cover meat. Turn down and simmer for several hours until meat is very tender.
Cut up potatoes and carrots into pan and add diced tomatoes. Simmer this until potatoes and carrots are tender. Add salt and pepper as desired. You can also add some garlic powder for flavor.
