3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour or 3 tbs. cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups milk
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 tbs. margarine
1 tsp vanilla flavoring

9" baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, flour and salt. Add milk. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils. Cook two minutes longer stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir a small amount of mixture into the egg yolks. Return to heat and cook for two minutes longer or until mixture thickens. Remove from heat, add vanilla and margarine. Pour into cooled pie shell.
Coconut pie---add 1 cup flaked coconut to vanilla pie mixture
Banana Cream pie--- Slice 3 bananas into crust and top with vanilla mixture
Chocolate pie---increase sugar to one cup and add 1/3 cocoa to sugar and flour mixture, cook same as vanilla pie.
