1/3c. diced salt pork.
1 c. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. thyme
2 c. diced potato
1/2 c. diced celery
1 No. 2 can tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
4 c. hot water
2 101/2 oz. cans minced clams or 1 1/2 dozen steamed clams chopped
liquor from the clams

Directions:
Directions:
Fry salt pork in a 4-quart saucepan until golden brown.
Add onions and thyme and saute until onions are yellow. Add remaining vegetables, salt, pepper and water and simmer 45 minutes. Add clams and clam liquor and reheat.
