2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
2/3 to 3/4 c. milk

Directions:
1. sift first three ingredients together into mixing bowl.
2. Cut shortening with blender until mixture resembles coarse corn meal
3. add 2/3 c. milk and stir with a fork until mixture is dampened.
4 stir in enough milk to form a soft dough
5. turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead gently half minute.
6. pat or roll out dough half inch thick; cut into rounds with cookie cutter or biscuit cutter
7 place on light greased baking sheet
8 Bake in 425º to 450º for 12 to 15 minutes

drop biscuits follow recipe through step 3, using 3/4 c. milk. drop dough by spoonfuls unto a greased baking sheet. bake in oven at 450 for 12 to 15 minutes
