1 C sugar
3/4 C shortening
1 egg
4 TBS molasses (sorghum)
2 C flour
2 level tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix well and chill.
Roll like a small marble.
Dip top in white sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.
They will spread out and form cracks on top.
These will keep crisp in a tight container.
