6 c flour
1 lb. butter (no margarine)
½ c icing sugar
1 ½ c canned evaporated milk
4 egg yolks
1 yeast cake (1 pkg of yeast, 1 tsp sugar, ½ c warm water)

Filling:
½ kg crushed walnuts (pulse in a food processor)
1 c sugar
1 tsp almond extract
4 egg whites

Dough
Work the first three ingredients like a pastry crust. Add the next three ingredients. Knead until smooth. Add 1 tsp salt. Let rise in a cool place (fridge) for 4 hours or overnight. Break pieces off the size of walnuts and roll in icing sugar.

Filling:
Combine and mix these ingredients in a food processor.

Bake in 350 F for 10 min. until they just start to tan. Remove from the oven and roll in icing sugar while still warm.

Hint: If you are lazy, roll out a portion of the dough and place the filling on and roll like a walnut roll. Then cut with the scissors every inch or so. Saves hours and everyone enjoys the same as the little individuals
