Pie Ingredients:
1 C. Sugar
1/4 C. Flour
1 1/2 C. Milk
4 Egg Yolks
3 TBSP. Butter
3/4 C. Coconut

Meringue Ingredients:
4 Egg Whites
3 TBSP. Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together in a saucepan (Louise prefers an iron skillet). Sugar and flour and gradually add ½ cup of milk making a paste. Add egg yolks (save the white for the meringue) and the rest of the milk. Add vanilla flavoring and coconut. Cook until thick stirring all the time. Remove from heat and add butter, mix. Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake until crust is brown. Meringue Directions: Beat 4 eggs whites until the hold a peak. Fold in 3 T. sugar. Keep beating until stiff peaks form. Put meringue on pie, sprinkle with coconut, and brown in 350ºF. oven.
