1 C. Shortening
1 stick Oleo Margarine
3 C. Sugar
5 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla Flavoring
¾ tsp. Almond Extract
3 C. Flour
¼ tsp. Salt
1 tsp. boiling Water
½ tsp. Baking Powder
1 C. Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and margarine together. Add sugar. Add one egg at a time and beat well after each addition. Add both flavorings. Gradually add flour and salt. Mix boiling water and baking powder in a measuring cup and add buttermilk. Mix thoroughly and bake in a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 350ºF. for 1 ½ hours or until straw comes out clean.
