"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
1 lb margarine - grated
1 lb cheddar cheese - grated
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the margarine, cheese and eggs in a large bowl. In a separate bowl stir the baking powder into the flour. Gradually add the flour and enough sour cream (sorry no measurement, just enough until it looks right to be a biscuit dough). Use your hands to kneed the mixture. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness - cut with a round 1" - 2" cookie cutter. Place on a cookie sheet and lightly brush tops with another beaten egg. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes.

These are one of my Mom's specialties. Great with homemade soup.
