olive oil
4 cloves garlic, pressed
2 medium onions, chopped
1 large can whole tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
2 large cans crushed tomatoes
1 medium can tomato sauce
3 cans of water
beef or chicken broth
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. basil
2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. fennel seeds
salt
pepper
soup bone

Heat pan on high, cover bottom of the pan with olive oil. Reduce heat to medium and add garlic and onions. When onions are translucent, pour whole tomatoes into a bowl and cut them into bite-size pieces. Add all tomatoes into the pan making sure to add 3 cans of water using the tomato paste can. Mix well. Add beef or chicken broth. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Cook over low heat for one-hour stirring frequently. Add meatballs or serve with chicken or pork cutlets.

Serve plain, or add meatballs. It can also be served with chicken or pork cutlets. Dip cutlets in eggs and then drudge through Italian bread crumbs and fry in olive oil.
