1 c. (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
2 1/2 c. Quick (or 3 c. Old Fashioned) Quaker Oats, uncooked
1 (12 oz.) package (2 c.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 c. chopped nuts (optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º
Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well
Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well
Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts; mix well
Drop by rounded Tbsp. onto ungreased cookie sheet
Bake 9 - 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 - 13 minutes for a crisp cookie
Let cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack
Let cool completely
