2 egg whites, at room temperature
2/3 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chocolate bits - Toll House
1 c. finely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat Oven: 375º

Beat egg whites and slowly add sugar and salt, beating until shiny.

Fold in rest of ingredients, drop by teaspoon onto UNGREASED aluminum foil.
(Cover cookie sheet with foil).

Put in oven, then turn off oven immediately.
Leave in oven overnight or at least 6 hours.
DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR until next morning.

You can vary this recipe with red food coloring and peppermint flavoring to make pink cookies.
