8-9 apples, sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. flour or tapioca

Frosting:
Powdered Sugar Frosting

Dough:
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (1/2 Crisco, 1/2 butter)
2 egg yolks
2 egg whites
Milk (2 yolks with milk to make 2/3 c. add to mix to make pastry).
1 c. Cornflakes

Directions:

Preheat Oven: 400º

Filling:
Mix together apples, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and flour or tapioca.

Dough:
Mix flour, sugar, and salt together.
Add 2/3 c. egg yolks and milk combined.
Cut in shortening.

Divide in half (roll as pie dough)
Spread 1/2 on cookie sheet (save half for top crust).

Add Cornflakes over bottom of crust.
Pour on apple mixture.
Roll out top crust and place on top.

Beat 2 egg whites till foamy and spread on top of crust.

Bake: 30 Minutes @ 400º
Reduce temp. to 350º and Bake: 40 Minutes

Frost with powdered sugar frosting.
