2 lbs. fresh cut up chicken pieces
1 small onion
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 hot pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons West Indian curry powder
2 to 3 cups water
2 tablespoons cooking oil

Directions:
Directions:
Wash the meat and season with salt, pepper and garlic.
Heat oil for 1 minute in a frying pan over medium to high.
Add curry powder and turmeric powder, stir for 1 or 2 minutes.
Lower heat, add meat slowly and stir for a few minutes.
Add water and cook on medium heat for about 30 to 35 minutes until meat is tender.
Cool and serve.
