2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes, or equivalent of fresh-cut tomatoes
1 - 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 can beef broth
1 - 1.25 oz package chili seasoning (I use McCormick, but any packaged chili seasoning mix will do)
1/2 large onion (I used a red/purple onion, but choose your favorite)
4-5 cloves garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Cheese (I prefer cheddar for chili, but use whatever cheese you wish that you think will go well with chili), sour cream, chives and Fritos chips

Directions:
Saute onions and garlic in skillet or pot large enough for 2 1/2 pounds of ground beef. Once sauteed, add ground beef and cook until brown. Add seasoning, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, salt & pepper and mix well. Serve hot.

Optional: Layer bottom of bowl with Fritos chips, spoon chili on top, add cheese, sour cream and chives depending on your personal taste.

Personal Notes:
If using 80% lean, there might be a lot of juice. Add the beef broth anyway, as it will add flavor. If you want, you can drain some of the hamburger juice, but it will also mean losing some of the onion and garlic flavor. You can make up for it by adding extra of both before adding the hamburger. It really depends on your preference for juicier or drier chili. Or of course, you can also use 90% lean hamburger. Enjoy!
