1 ½ lb. lean ground beef (680 kg)
1 cup diced onions
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1-19 oz. can Italian tomatoes
14 oz. can tomato sauce
1 - 5 ½ oz. can tomato paste
½ cup red wine
2 Tbsp. G-F Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. oregano

6 G-F lasagne noodles, cooked according to package directions
3 cups ricotta or cottage cheese
1 lb. sliced mozzarella cheese (450 g)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Brown beef, onions and garlic. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, wine, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.

In a 9"x13" pan OR an 11 x 7 AND a 13 x 8 pan, layer ½ of the meat sauce, ½ of the noodles, ½ of the ricotta or cottage cheese and ½ of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with Parmesan and bake at 350 F for 40 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with Caesar Salad. The meat sauce may be served over any cooked pasta.
