Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening (Crisco oil)
1 c. milk (scalded)
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
flour (approximately 3 c.)

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, shortening and salt in a large bowl, pour hot milk over it and stir. When it is cooled to lukewarm, stir in yeast. Add 1 c. flour and stir vigorously. Add more flour until dough is stiff, pour out on floured board and kneed adding flour as you kneed. Add flour until dough is just a little sticky to handle. You can't kneed to much but you can get to much flour. (however, the dough has to have enough flour to be able to handle it.)Too much flour makes buns heavy).
Place in greased bowl and grease top of dough. Cover with cloth and place in a warm place. Let rise to two or three times the original size. Roll out and cut in buns and let rise again until doubled in size. I add a little extra salt and sugar to this recipie.
Bake at 350º for 20 min.

Personal Notes:
These were the bun's Nana (Gloria Chetister's Mom) always had ready for us when we went to Pennsylvania to visit. I do not know how many she must have made because there were eight of us and I know we ate tons of them. They are the best.
