1 c grated carrot
1 c grated potato
1 1/4 c soft bread crumbs
1 c raisins
1 c currents
1 c brown sugar
3/4 c finely chopped suet
2 tbsp sour milk
1/2 tsp.baking soda
1/2 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix in order given. Turn into well greased jars and steam for two hours.
Serve with the following Rum/Brown Sugar Sauce:
1 c dark brown sugar
1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 c water
Boil, cool, then add 1 tsp.vanilla and 1 tsp rum
OR
serve with Vanilla Sauce
1/2 c sugar
1 tbsp corn starch
1 c boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp butter
Mix sugar and cornstarch,add boiling water,blend completely. Cook and stir until no taste of raw starch, add butter, cool, add vanilla
